Hanging Your Artwork

Determining Proper Height

For optimal viewing, artwork should be placed so that the center of the piece is approximately 57–60 inches from the floor—aligning with average eye level.

  1. Measure the height of your artwork and divide by 2 (this gives you the center point).

  2. Measure 57–60 inches up from the floor and mark this spot on the wall.

  3. Measure the distance from the center of the artwork to its hanging hardware (e.g., D-rings or taut wire).

  4. Subtract this number from the eye-level mark—this is where the nail or hook should be placed.

How to Position Nails, Screws, or Hooks

  • Sawtooth Hangers: Place the nail or hook where the sawtooth aligns with the measured spot.

  • D-Rings with Wire: Pull the wire taut and measure how far it stretches from the top—adjust nail placement accordingly.

  • Heavy Artworks: Use wall anchors or stud-mounted screws for added stability.

Hanging Multi-Panel Artworks

To achieve a cohesive display:

  • Determine the spacing: Leave 0.5–1 inch between panels for a balanced look.

  • Align at the same height: Follow the eye-level method for the center of the group, adjusting for individual panels. It may help to first place the pieces on the floor to visualize positioning.

  • Use a level: Keep multiple panels straight using a level or painter’s tape as a guide.

  • Check final positioning: Step back and adjust if necessary for perfect visual alignment.

FAQ

Q. What if I’m unsure whether I will like the artwork in person?

A. We encourage you to carefully consider your selection before placing an order. If you have any questions or need additional details, please reach out—we are happy to provide extra photos or videos to help you visualize the artwork in a real-life setting.

For peace of mind, we offer a 15-day return policy on items in their original condition and packaging. However, return shipping costs and potential restocking fees may apply. Please review our Shipping and Returns page for full details.

Q. What is your typical production time for custom works?

A. Production time varies depending on the finish:

  • Varnished pieces: Estimated at 2–3 weeks.

  • Resin-coated pieces: Estimated at 4–6 weeks due to the longer curing period.

Larger or more complex pieces may require additional time, and production schedules depend on current workload and material availability. If you need your piece by a specific date, please contact us in advance to discuss feasibility.

Q. Do I need to have my artwork framed?

A. Most of my artworks are created on rigid surfaces with hanging hardware attached, making framing optional. However, since the edges are often unfinished or textured differently than the front surface, certain artworks may benefit from professional framing for a polished presentation.

For non-rectangular (contoured) artworks, framing is possible using a floating method, where the irregularly shaped piece is first mounted onto a rectangular backing board, which is then placed within a frame. A professional framer can advise on the best approach based on the artwork's shape and construction.

Artwork Care & Hanging Guide

Caring for Your Artwork

Resin-Coated Artworks

Resin finishes create a smooth, glass-like surface that enhances depth and vibrancy. To maintain their pristine appearance:

  • Dusting: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or microfiber duster. Avoid paper towels, as they may cause micro-scratches.

  • Cleaning: If necessary, lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water or a mild soap solution and gently wipe the surface. Do not spray cleaning agents directly on the artwork or use abrasive or alcohol-based cleaners.

  • Avoid Direct Sunlight & Heat: Prolonged exposure to UV light may cause yellowing over time. Keep artworks away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and high humidity.

  • Humidity & Temperature: Avoid placing artwork in areas with inconsistent humidity or temperature fluctuations, especially for pieces on wood panels or other organic substrates. Variations in temperature and humidity can cause warping or buckling in the resin finish.

  • Handling: Always lift artwork by the edges, avoiding pressure on the resin surface to prevent fingerprints or indentations.

Varnished Acrylic Mixed-Media Artworks

A varnish finish protects the artwork while maintaining its texture. Care instructions include:

  • Dusting: Use a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster to gently remove dust. Do not wet the artwork surface or spray cleaning agents directly on it.

  • Cleaning: Avoid wet or chemical cleaners, as varnish may react to moisture. If needed, use a slightly damp cloth with distilled water and dab lightly.

  • Placement Considerations: To preserve color vibrancy, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Ensure the artwork is placed in a stable humidity environment to prevent warping.
